News Updates

Welcome Anastasia  

One of Mei’s students in Simon Fraser University, Canada will be helping us with our research.

Her name is Anastasia. She will work with us through the summer.

Life Course Interviews

We have now done over 120 Life Course Interviews.

46 are with people with learning disabilities.

77 are with people who are LGBT+

The Place Study

We have sent out over 40 tablets for the Place Study.

Place Study participants have sent in a total of 322 surveys.

Story Maps

We have made 8 Story Maps with participants who have finished the Place Study.

Social Network Maps

We have made 7 Social Network Maps with our participants.

Organisational Interviews

We have done 41 organisational interviews so far. We will do another 40.

Kathryn and Richard will be giving a presentation

Kathryn and Richard will be presenting at the British Society of Gerontology 54th conference.

Their presentation is called “It’s very easy to go back’: Caring about the concerns of older LGBTQ+ people who fear the loss of their rights”

Judith and the IncludeAge team will be giving a presentation

We also have another presentation for  the British Society of Gerontology 54th conference.

It is called “Ageing across Everyday Physical Places and Virtual Spaces: Using an Experience Sampling Method to understand the Inclusion of Older People with Learning Disabilities and Older LGBT+ People”.

Judith has been awarded money for a new project

Judith has also been awarded £24,313 by the Academy of Medical Sciences with Professor Vina Tan, a colleague from the Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Their project is called “Networking and research enrichment on applying community-based participatory research for healthy ageing in older people (CPR4Health): Bridging gaps across disciplines and communities”.

Judith and Mei have a new project

Judith and Mei also have a new project called “Empowering older adults as co-researchers to drive climate action and build resilient communities”.

Outreach

 Judith and Mei published a report

Judith & Mei have published a report called

“ICE-TEA: International Consortium on Ethics in Technology and Aging: Achievements and Future Directions for AGE-WELL Catalyst Program in Healthy Aging Initiative on Ethical AgeTech”.
