Welcome to our monthly IncludeAge Newsletter!

We are just getting back into our stride here after a busy (and very warm!) summer at IncludeAge, so we have just a short update for everyone this month.

Wee Update on our Project Figures

So far we have completed:So far we have completed:

• 153 life course interviews

• A total of 88 participants have sent us a total of 686 Place Study surveys and 28 follow up interviews have been completed

• We held 62 Organisational Interviews

• And 14 Social Network Mapping sessions have been done with participants.

Online Discussion for LGBT+ Adults

We are delighted to let you know that we are holding two workshops for LGBT+ adults to take part in an online discussion forum about how to make communities more inclusive for LGBT+ people. We will also be running some workshops for people with a Learning Disability and information about this will be sent on shortly.

International Conference on Educational and Life Transitions

We had four presentations at the International Conference on Educational and Life Transitions (ICELT) in August:

• Joe talked about  "'Becoming a researcher': The experiences of co-researchers with learning disabilities on the Include Age project”

• Judith talked on “Transitioning to inclusive communities for older LGBT+ people and older people with Learning Disabilities: Organisational perspectives”

• Mei did a keynote talk on “Reframing Organizational Transitions: Theoretical Insights on Aging, Place, and Community-Based Support”

• And Richard presented on “’The ones who give us a bad reputation’: Place-based and life transitions between gender conformity and gender nonconformity among mid-older gay men in Britain”.
