We are really pleased to announce that we have been accepted to be part of a Symposium on “Inclusive Ageing: how health inequalities are experienced in older age and practical options to improve inclusivity in later life”, at the International Association of Geriatrics and Gerontology conference in Amsterdam this spring.
Mei has been awarded the Emerging Community-Engaged Researcher Award from SFU’s Community Engaged Research Initiative. The award recognizes her collaborative, participatory research with older adults and community partners, and her contributions to advancing inclusive, equity-focused research practices across urban aging, health, and community settings.
Mei, Pat and a researcher friend of ours Becky recently presented an AGE-WELL webinar titled “Collective of Older Adult Researchers (COAR): Intergenerational Citizen Science in Action”. The session explored how older adults can be meaningfully engaged as co-researchers through participatory and intergenerational citizen science approaches. The webinar also highlighted how key lessons from the IncludeAge project have informed the development of the COAR model. These lessons underscore the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and co-creation when working with older adults across diverse communities.
