Welcome to our March IncludeAge update.

This will be a slightly shorter newsletter as we move into Spring and the final months of the IncludeAge project.

Reporting our Project Outcomes

Each year we report the work we have done to the Economic and Social Research Council, which funds the IncludeAge project.

This report is called a Research Fish submission, and it tracks all of the outputs produced by the project over the previous year. Outputs include things like publications, conference presentations, workshops, and other ways we share our work.

We are delighted to report that since the beginning of the project we have produced 145 project outcomes. This represents a huge amount of collaborative work from our research team, partners, and participants.

IncludeAge End-of-Project Showcase Event

We are also very excited to be planning our IncludeAge End-of-Project Showcase, and we would love for you to join us.

The showcase will take place on 8th May in Dundee with some sessions also being held on Zoom.

The event will include interactive spaces where you can explore our research findings, short presentations from the team, and opportunities to share feedback and reflections on the project.

During the event we will also officially launch the IncludeAge Serious Game, which has been developed based on what we have learned from our research.

Launching the IncludeAge Serious Game

Over the past year we have been working hard to develop a Serious Game inspired by the findings of the IncludeAge project.

A serious game is a type of game designed to help people explore real-life challenges and learn through interactive experiences.

Our game is based on the experiences and insights shared by our participants. It has been designed to help organisations think about how to make their services and communities more inclusive.

The game will be launched at the Showcase event, where attendees will have the opportunity to try it out for the first time.

After the launch, the game will be available for organisations and communities to use as a tool for improving inclusion and accessibility.

Special Guest Screening: Silver Screamers

As part of our end-of-project celebrations, we are delighted to welcome filmmaker Sean Cisterna.

Sean will be joining us for a screening of his documentary Silver Screamers.

The film follows a group of older adults as they step into the world of independent filmmaking to create their own horror movie. It is a wonderful example of creativity, collaboration, and challenging stereotypes about ageing.

We will share more information about tickets for the screening soon.
